Steven F. Belcher, founder and president of Belcher & COMPANY was born and raised in Pascagoula, MS. After graduating from Pascagoula High School in 1979, he attended Florida State University, graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Following his B.S. degree, Steve attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and in 1985, received his Master of Science degree in Healthcare Administration.

The seeds that would eventually become Belcher & COMPANY were planted when Steve entered the insurance business in 1985. After ten years with a major insurance company as a wholesaler of employee benefits, he left his position as Vice President of Sales and Marketing to launch his own insurance and financial services practice, the beginning of Belcher & COMPANY.

With a primary affiliation as an agent with New York Life Insurance Company, Steve is a Chartered Life Underwriter and holds his Life, Health, and Variable Annuity license. He is a licensed Registered Representative offering securities through NYLIFE Securities LLC (Member FINRA/SIPC), a Licensed Insurance Agency. Steve is also an Investment Advisor with Eagle Strategies LLC, both are New York Life companies. Steve also has his Series 6, 63 & 65 securities licenses.

Now in the 29th of his career as an insurance and investment advisor, Steve focuses on helping small business owners and professionals navigate the financial landscape to plan for a prosperous retirement, as well as guiding them through their retirement years and helping them plan for the legacy they want to leave.

Civic involvement has always been a priority, a reflection of Steve’s desire to give back to his community. Steve has been Rotarian since 1995 serving as a Board member for 2 different clubs. Steve also served on the Board of Directors for Valerie’s House, a local non-profit dedicated to providing bereavement services for children that are suffering from the loss of a parent or sibling.

Since 1994, Steve has lived in Fort Myers, Fl with his wife, Lisa. Their two sons, Zachary and Hunter both live and work just up the state in Tampa, Fl. Away from the office, Steve enjoys playing golf and the piano. The resurgence in vinyl finds him knocking the dust off his collection of LP’s covering a variety of blues, jazz, and of course good ole rock n’ roll!

Elizabeth Pernell, Office Manager of Belcher & COMPANY was born and raised in Moundsville, WV. After graduating from John Marshall High School in 1987, she attended West Liberty State College graduating in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After several years of life experience and work, she enrolled in the master’s program at Wheeling Jesuit University and received an M.S. degree in Organizational Leadership in 2009. Elizabeth comes to us with over 12 years of experience gained from working in the financial services industry. Through this experience, she has developed a great sense of importance with building and maintaining client relationships, developing company goals, resolving operational concerns and helping to create strategies to improve efficiency. She enjoys engaging with clients and making their experience personable. In June 2024, Elizabeth obtained her insurance license and is now a Licensed Service Agent (LSA) in our office here in Fort Myers. In the community, she has worked closely with many organizations such as Habitat for Humanity where she was a member of the board, WV Elks State Major Project past President and board member (which is a camp provided to disabled children at no cost), member of the First Church of God in McMechen, organizer of the Elks back-pack program for Ritchie and Center McMechen Elementary Schools as well as working closely with Moundsville Helping Heroes and the Family Resource Network. Since relocating to Florida, she has continued her relationship with the Elks (Pine Island), served the community through Rotary service and aided with distributions to hurricane victims. Elizabeth resides in Cape Coral, FL with her husband, Larry. Away from the office, Elizabeth enjoys quality family time, traveling and just relaxing by the pool-now that she can enjoy sun year-round.
